For the Love of Reading - an evening focused on nurturing a lifelong love of reading in your child.

I‘m delighted to host a conversation with award-winning author Catherine Chidgey, who will share insights into her latest books and the magic of adolescent reading. Together, we’ll explore practical ways to engage young people with books, along with recommendations that can spark interest and enjoyment for readers of all ages.

On the night, Cameron Lacey, our Head of Faculty - English, will also provide an overview of Kristin’s reading curriculum, including what students are reading and guidance on the volume and consistency of reading expected across year levels.

About Catherine Chidgey
Catherine Chidgey is one of New Zealand’s most acclaimed and award-winning novelists, internationally recognised for her compelling storytelling and richly crafted works, including The Wish Child, Remote Sympathy, The Axeman’s Carnival and her latest novel, The Book of Guilt. As a lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Waikato, Catherine brings deep insight into the power of literature, making her uniquely placed to speak about how young people connect with stories and develop a lifelong love of reading.
